Ranging from the oldest grandma, down to the youngest child who starts to think intelligently—every one of us have dreams. Some of these might be petty, like getting a sweet treat to eat on a hot summer’s day, others may be much more noble: like starting an organization or making another person’s life more meaningful. Either way, all dreams have a thirst that cannot be quenched unless the dream is realized.
Most of you have heard of Martin Luther King and his dream. This call for equality and freedom may be well on its way to realization today, but it wasn’t easy—it started with a struggle. Similarly, but to a much lesser extent, the dreams we dream and the plans we have for the future, need work to get there.
One must remember that Luther King was never born an orator. Henry Ford’s business failed five times before his innovative ideas for assembly line American cars finally took off. The global empire that is Microsoft took a lot of effort and a failed business on Bill Gates’ part to finally become huge. Even Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper because he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” I won’t bore you with the details of where his legacy stands today.
What do all these people have in common with you? Well, you might not have completed your education due to a wide variety of reasons, but you must remember that the foundation of any dream is education. Horace Mann once said, “A human being is not attaining his full heights until he is educated”; a saying that holds true in many accounts. But what if the dreams you had remain just that? What if you never had a fair shot at education?
Government Grants for Women are the answer to that problem. These little aids will go a long way to help you complete your education, or specialize in your area of training. As you start getting back into the world of education, you will realize how fortunate you are to receive a grant to help you get a good, updated degree.
However, many women are still slightly apprehensive and feel awkward to move into the education sector again after a long hiatus. If you are content with your standing now, but wish there was a better was to help your child succeed, there are the usual Grants for Girls. All these will work towards you child’s or your ultimate goal. As Abba sang:
“And my destination makes it worth the while,
Pushing through the darkness still another mile “
There are angels out there to help you, and this comes in the form of Scholarships For Women Over 40. Even the biggest names had to have a hand to lift them up when they fell. Today, the world doesn’t remember the number of times they fell, or how. They only concentrate on the legacies these great human beings left behind. Keep your success as a goal, and march through life with firm resolve!
